This Caucasus culture tour is specially designed to highlight the way from Baku, Azerbaijan to Tbilisi, Georgia through the rolling hills and lush valleys, the beautiful and scenic Mountains of Caucasus, the lakes and the ancient architectural monuments and the fascinating villages. A truly fascinating tour of these two Caucasus countries those are very famous for its hospitality.
Day 01: Arrival in Baku
After meeting and greeting at the airport you will be transferred to hotel and check in. A brief night tour of Baku to witness Flaming Towers of Baku (subject to arrival timing). Overnight stay at hotel in Baku.
Day 02: Baku
We’ll visit the walled city of Baku with the Shirvanshah’s Palace and Maiden Tower, UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Inner City (Icheri Sheher) has preserved much of its 12th century defensive walls. The 12th century Maiden Tower (Giz Galasy – one of the pearls of Azerbaijan’s architecture), then we will visit Juma Mosque and the Carpet Museum. Afterwards, we will walk in Naberezhny Park and along Baku Boulevard and on Boulevard we will take a boat ride along Baku Bay. Overnight stay at hotel in Baku.
Day 03: Baku – Absheron Peninsula – Baku
We will leave for full day excursion to Absheron Peninsula. Over there we will visit Ateshgah, the Fire Worshippers’ Temple which is located in the village of Surakhany, built on the land where natural gas burned eternally and worshipped by Zoroastrians who used to travel from the province of Multan in India to visit this sacred place. We will also visit the ancient castles of Absheron Peninsula dated 12th-13th c.c. Overnight stay at hotel in Baku.
Day 04: Baku – Gabala
Today we will depart for Qabala (Gabala) – en route visit Jumma Mosque in Shamakhi (old and historical). Gabala is a famous summer tourist resort and also visit Lahij village that is well known place for traditional handicrafts of Azerbaijan . On arrival transfer to hotel and check in. Overnight stay at hotel in Gabala.
Day 05: Gabala
This will be full day to explore Gabala region by visiting Nohur Lake, visit of Gabaland (funland park) and then chair lift ride to view Gabala city. Overnight stay at hotel in Gabala.
Day 06: Gabala – Sheki
After breakfast we will leave for Sheki, one of the most famous and ancient places of Azerbaijan and known as silk center. In Sheki we will visit the 18th century Khan’s summer palace with magnificent frescos and exquisite stained glass work, and then also visit Sheki History museum and the Albanian church located in Kish village. Overnight stay at hotel in Sheki.
Day 07: Sheki – Telavi – Sighnaghi
Today we will leave for Telavi and Sighnaghi, the main cities of eastern province of Georgia. At Tsinandali we will visit Palace of Al. Chavchavadze, famous Georgian poet and then visit Telavi State Historical and Ethnographical Museum and Palace of the King Erekle; Shuamta monastery complexes. Afterwards we will drive to Sighnaghi, up on arrival transfer to hotel and check in. Overnight stay at hotel in Sighnaghi.
Day 08: Tbilisi
After breakfast we will go for city sightseeing tour of Tbilisi by visiting Trinity Cathedral (the second Millennium), Metekhi Church (XIII century), Old Tbilisi, Sulphur Baths, Narikala Fortress (V-IV centuries), Sioni (XIII c.) and Anchiskhati churches (VI century). Also walk on Shardeni and Leselidze streets and Rustaveli Avenue to touch the life spirit of Georgia. Overnight stay at hotel in Tbilisi.
Day 09: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Gudauri
Today we will depart for Mtskheta,the capital of the Georgian Kingdom of Iberia during the 3rd century BC – 5th century AD. Here we will see Jvari Monastery (6th c.) and then to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Afterwards we will leave for Gudauri, on arrival transfer to hotel and check in. Overnight stay at hotel in Gudauri.
Day 10: Gudauri – Kazbezi – Gudauri
This will be jeep jeep excursion (4×4) for Kazbegi, a village of Sno Valley in the north of Georgia, popular for the trekking opportunities in the spectacular surrounding mountains with views of the mighty Mount Kazbeg, and enjoy the beautiful view from the town of the Holy Trinity Church outlined against Mount Kazbeg. Overnight stay at hotel in Gudauri.
Day 11: Gudauri – Gori – Kutaisi
After breakfast we will drive for Kutaisi. En route, we will visit Samtavisi (Georgian orthodox cathedral) and also visit the museum of Joseph Stalin (birth place of Stalin) in Gori. Later on, we will visit Uplistsikhe, “the lord’s fortress”, which is an ancient rock-hewn town in eastern Georgia (built on bank of Mtkvari River). Overnight stay at hotel in Kutaisi.
Day 12: Kutaisi – Akhaltsikhe
Today after breakfast, we will visit historical sites of Kutaisi, such as the 12th century Gelati Cathedral (one of the earliest academies in Europe) and the splendid 11th century Bagrati Cathedral. Both cathedrals are UNESCO World heritage listed sites. Overnight stay at hotel in Akhaltsikhe.
Day 13: Akhaltsikhe – Tbilisi
After breakfast we will depart for Vardzia (in Georgia), stopping en route to visit the Khertvisi Fortress (1100 AD). Stretching over half a kilometre along the Mtkvari River and consisting of 19 tiers, the magnificent 12th century cave town of Vardzia will be one of the most interesting parts of tour. Afterwards we will drive back to Tbilisi. Overnight stay at hotel in Tbilisi.
Day 14: Tbilisi – Flight out
After breakfast we will depart for Tbilisi airport to catch flight back home (transfer will be fixed as per flight details). End of Georgia and Azerbaijan tour and end of tours services of Tourism Incentives
